Elk hunting

An unforgettable nature week in the Arctic Lakeland region. Elk hunting takes place under the guidance of experienced hunters and with the help of barking hunting dogs. Traditional dog hunting has a long-standing history and is an extremely exciting form of hunting. Hunting days start early in the morning and can last the entire day. During the trip, you’ll enjoy delicious packed meals and entertaining stories. While also getting to know the Finnish nature and admiring the vibrant colors of autumn.

During this activity-filled holiday, you will also get to know the local culture and way of life, guided by our experienced hosts. In addition, we will spend one day fishing on our beautiful waters. Hopefully, we’ll catch something and prepare a meal over an open fire from the fresh catch.

The program includes three days of hunting, one day of fishing, and two free days during the week. For the free days, we can plan optional activities based on your interests.

During the autumn season, optional activities such as berry picking or mushroom foraging can be arranged — offering a great opportunity to take home some of nature’s own treasures!

Good to know:

Each hunter must have a valid hunting licence and proper licences for his weapon and ammunitions.
He must send copies of these licences to us before Finnsih authorities will issue hunting permits.
Recommended personal equipment: rainwear, warm underwear, layered clothing and waterproof footwear.

Please remember to dress warmly according to the weather. We recommend you to wear warm and comfortable extra clothes (e.g. underwear, socks, in multiple layers). Also, make sure to wear waterproof and warm boots suitable for winter conditions to keep your feet dry and comfortable throughout the trip. If you need any equipment, please make sure to reserve it separately!
